A response to the first, when I thought it wasn’t going to exist, I still felt there needed to be an apology. I would play it alone on the pianos of eclectic music.
One night I was drunk as hell and played it for Crusa and decided to voice memo it. Apraha Henry-Fisher was there dancing to it, you can hear her movements throughout, and in the end jumped up and hit a light fixture right over the last line, “your name’s the same to me as youth.” Apraha says something like “I’m such an ass” and then Crusa says “it was so tight though”.
We decided to use that voice memo on the record. It felt right.
lyrics
[Verse 1]
I’m sorry for the tantrum there
It was a bad time and place for me
I hope you know
I do wish the very best
You and yours
Honest
You all changed me
My thanking’s due
Your name’s the same to me as youth
